MEMORY VERSE/SCRIPTURE
“God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son.” John 3:16, GNT
SAY THIS
Why is Jesus special? Jesus is God’s Son.
ACTIVITY
What You Need:
No supplies needed
What You Do/Say:
Say, “In our story today, the shepherds were so excited about the birth of Jesus that they ran to ‘go and tell’ people all about Him. Today, I want us to be like the shepherds. Let’s go into different rooms in our house and ‘go and tell’ about Jesus by saying our memory verse. Ready?”
Allow your kid to choose which rooms to visit to “go and tell.”
Enter each room and say, “‘God (point up) loved the world so much (hug yourself) that he gave (hands out with palms up) his only Son (rock arms like a baby),’ John 3:16.” (Open hands like a book.)
Repeat the activity as long as there is interest. If possible, “go and tell” on the back porch, at the mailbox, or even video call a family member to recite the memory verse together.
When you are finished say, “In our story today, the shepherds were so excited that Baby Jesus was born that they ran and told everyone about Jesus. They knew that Jesus was special because Jesus is God’s Son! Why is Jesus Special? Jesus is God’s Son!”

MEMORY VERSE/SCRIPTURE
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.” Psalm 107:1, NIV
SAY THIS
Who is good? God is good.
ACTIVITY
What You
Need:
Box of tissues (or a few sheets of toilet paper)
What You Do/Say:
Invite your preschooler to play a game with you. Say, “I’m
going to give you a tissue. I want you to place the tissue on your head and
walk across the room like this with the tissue balanced on your head.
(Demonstrate.) If it falls, you must freeze! I will be your helper and place
the tissue back on your head. Then I will count to three and you can unfreeze
and walk again.”
Give your child a tissue to place on their head. Say, “Are
you ready? Let’s go! Start walking and we’ll watch to see if it falls.”
As your preschooler walks, watch for the tissue to fall.
When it does, say, “Freeze!” Pick up their tissue and place it back on their
heads. Say, “I am your helper. I will place the tissue back on your head.” Then
count to three and encourage them to walk around again. Play as long as time
and interest allow.
Say, “That was some great balancing you did. But did you
know what my favorite part was? Being your helper. God gave us so many good
things, including people who help us! Who is good? God is good!”
